We offer Asbestos inspection, advice and removal

What is Asbestos?

Asbestos is a building and insulation product used extensively up until the mid 1990s for roofing, cladding, fascades, insulation, pipe lagging, walls and ceilings, floor tiles etc. You cannot 100% verify if a product has asbestos in it without testing.

Need Asbestos Removal?

If you’ve determined that you have an asbestos problem in your home or business, there are proper procedures that must be followed by a certified professional. Removal is the only viable solution for asbestos, and this must be conducted by qualified specialist to guarantee the site is safely returned to normal.

When to use a Licensed Asbestos Removalist?

An employer or self-employed person can conduct a limited amount of asbestos removal work without a licence if the asbestos-containing material is non-friable; and the area of asbestos-containing material to be removed does not exceed 10 square metres in total; and the total time asbestos removal work is performed in any period of seven days does not exceed one hour (this period is the cumulative total time the asbestos removal work is carried out by all employees over a period of seven days). All other non-friable asbestos and all friable asbestos must always be removed by a Licensed Asbestos Removalist.

What are the two types of licenses for asbestos removal?

  • Class B licence-holders are only permitted to remove non-friable asbestos.
  • Class A licence-holders are permitted to remove both friable and non-friable asbestos.

We have an Asbestos Removal Licence issued by WorkSafe to legally remove more than 10m2 of non-friable asbestos (Class B). We can:

  • Identifiy Asbestos or ACM
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the associated health risks
  • Interpret relevant legislation and new asbestos licencing
  • Select and use appropriate Personal and Respiratory Protective Equipment
  • Take samples safely for laboratory analysis
  • How to take samples safely
  • Follow safe removal procedures for non-friable asbestos and ACM
  • Understand requirements for containment and safe disposal of asbestos
  • Conduct personal decontamination procedures

We will provide a free quotation and recommendations for the removal of your asbestos.
